Define date and duration fields

- [Narrator] Keeping track of dates and durations is critical for many types of Visio diagrams, including things like Process Maps, Timelines and Gantt charts. In this video, we'll add data fields for recording a date and a duration for an object in a museum collection. We'll start by right clicking in the External Data window, choosing Define Shape Data and clicking New to add a new field to the set of fields that already exist for this particular shape. For the label, we'll use Acquisition Date and paste the same value into the Name field. From the Type drop down, we'll choose Date and we can choose a wide variety of formats for the date display. I'll go with a simple North American format of month, day, year. I will leave the Default Value field blank. And for Prompt text, let's use this. I made this error deliberately. I just wanna point out that if you have the Developer tab turned on and you put text into the Name field, the Name field has very specific requirements. You cannot…
