Shared folders, clipboard, and drag and drop
- [Instructor] The guest additions allow us to share folders between the host and guest in order to access files and they allow us to share data between the host and guest in other ways as well, through a shared clipboard and through drag and drop support. Let's take a look at each of these features, starting with shared folders. I'll go into my machine settings and then click on shared folders. You can do this from the menu bar or from the settings on the manager screen. Here, I can add machine folders or transient folders. I don't have any set up right now, but clicking on the icon with a folder and a green plus, brings up a Window where I can add a folder. Folder path here, is the path to a folder I want to share, on the host computer. I'll choose to share my desktop and i'll click select folder. Folder name is how I'll access the folder in the guest operating system. You can change it if you like, but make sure…
