- Let's talk about why we should even bother to location scout. First, productions are expensive ventures. You want to make sure you maximize productivity. Location scouting could really identify something that could break your production. You may not know that your location's next to an airport, or an air traffic, and you wouldn't get any good audio from that location. That would really ruin your production on shoot day. It helps you make a plan for the day of production. Where's crew going to go? Where are people going to park? Where are your shots going to be? It'll also help you get to know the location better to know what kind of props you need. So if we go into a location we want to make sure we have the props we need to transform it into the scene we need.
