A few words on intellectual property

- Let's take just a moment to talk about an essential concept, and that is intellectual property. This is particularly true if you're applying for a job in the creative industries. You want to be seen not as a liability. Meaning that you understand copyright and you're not a risk point. You don't want to steal music for your demo reel. Make sure that the music you use is properly licensed. Maybe from a stock music site or that you can show that you have clearances to use it. Don't put work samples on your demo reel that you don't have permission for. Don't use copyrighted materials and re-edit a scene from a movie. The cost of violating intellectual property, or violating copyright, is huge. The potential fines and the risk factors to the companies that you work for are enormous.
