- When applying for a job, people are going to want to see proof that you can get the work done. One of the best ways to do this is with a personal website. These days, I always suggest that you make sure that your website is mobile-friendly so it loads quickly with low bandwidth connections and can be easily browsed on smaller screens. Keep the website focused on work samples. Show off examples of what it is you do. And those work samples should be representative of the types of jobs you're applying for. If you have a blog on the website, be careful not to overshare. Your blog should be focused on your professional interest.
