Why should I use video?

- Is video for everyone? You bet it is. According to the Content Marketing Institute 60% of B2B and B2C marketers are using video and having success with it. Why? With so much information available online content fatigue is at an all-time high. This means viewers are exasperated by seeing the same content repeatedly so they delete messages, scroll by, or totally ignore content without a second thought. While there is a lot of video out there, a video done right has the power to capture the hearts and the minds of your audience and turn that audience into a loyal following, a community. Creating video, especially on LinkedIn, removes cold outreach from the equation. You might be asking, "How is this possible?" Video takes one-to-many interaction and transforms it into a one-on-one experience. When you look into the camera from the perspective of your viewers, you're looking directly into their eyes. While hundreds, thousands, maybe even millions of people are viewing your content, to the viewer it feels like you're having a one-on-one conversation. They feel a connection. They feel like they know you. You become their friend. This is the concept of like, know, trust. If people like you, they want to get to know you. Once they know you, you're able to build trust with them. If you're still not convinced that video can positively impact your business, check out the expert plumber, Roger Wakefield. In a little over a year, he has gained 15,000 followers on YouTube and I'm sure that number will continue to grow. He has built an incredible community on LinkedIn and scaled his business. Roger proves that if you're entertaining, have a deep knowledge of your subject and a desire to educate, video works. If you're hesitant about adding video into your business repertoire, think about this. A plumber starting with little to no video experience is having major success using video. Video is an excellent medium for telling your story and saying what you've been meaning to say. It gives you the space that you need to really be heard. Using video on LinkedIn will be the main focus of this content. However, most of what you learn can be applied across all platforms. Each platform has its own culture and language or way of interacting. But LinkedIn is a great place to get your footing and hone your message as you branch out into the world of video content creation. Many people are avoiding video or have thought about it but don't know where to begin. If you fall into either of these categories this course will be perfect for you.
