- In the last chapter we started out by evaluating the shot to kind of determine what about the shot wasn't working for us. So let's look at what I call the face-off shot of Ta'ani standing off against Mar'kalen. Now, in my head this shot was really powerful as these two strong figures faced off against each other. This shot from The Girl on the Train has the same type of head-on profile two shot that I wanted to get, but I obviously didn't achieve anything like this. At the time I didn't understand why it looked so terrible or what could be done to salvage it, but I think I get it now. This is the original shot; from what we've covered in this course so far, what do you think is off about this? Well, there are a lot of things. Probably more things wrong with this shot than right with it, honestly. The thing that bothers me most though about this image is the lighting.
