Welcome

- [Jeff] Welcome to DaVinci Resolve for Editors. In this title, we're going to take a look at the entire application, including importing media whether from the edit page, or on the media page. We're going to take a look at different editorial techniques, including things like three-point editing, as well as drag-and-drop editing. We're going to take a look at trimming. That is the adjustment of clips on the timeline. We're going to take a look at how audio works, including how to set key frames. We're going to take a look at effects and transitions. We're going to take a look at the common things that editors might look for on the color page, such as video scopes and a three-way color corrector. We'll take a brief look at Fairlight, the very comprehensive DAW that's been added in this version of the software. And last, we're going to take a look at how to export, how to get your media out of Resolve. Before we get started, I do want to make one point. What this title is not is everything that Resolve does. The color page here is one of the deepest areas of this application. There's a lot of great training in the library about it. I'm approaching it as an editor. I'm trying to make the editorial transition as easy as possible for you. And we're also not talking about the round-tripping capabilities it has from other software, from other editorial tools, and then the trip back to those tools. So, let's get started with Resolve for Editors.
