- Hi, my name is Hillary Shea, and welcome to this course about being a great production assistant. PAs are an essential aspect of production. They help keep it moving. So what does it mean to be a PA? First, I'll describe a basic job overview. Things like what's expected, how to find work, and the benefits of both a staff job or going freelance. Then we'll talk about the important things you need to know before going onset. Things like, onset slang, the people you'll be working with, and the importance of organization. From there, we'll cover strategies that help you be successful, as well as cover technical tasks that you will probably be asked to do. This doesn't end with the end of the shoot. There are things to keep in mind when production's wrapped, like invoicing and getting some training to help you be more knowledgeable onset. We've got a lot to cover, so come and join me.
