Using a lavalier microphone
- Yeah Rich, most office environments weren't designed to be, you know, sound stages, - Right. - or recording spaces right? They were designed to be aesthetically pleasing, to be comfortable, therefore you might find yourself in a situation where you have a lot of reflective surfaces in a room, you have high ceilings, maybe even wood floors or concrete in the room. That's going to cause a lot of problems when it comes to capturing good, clean, kind of, you know, close sounding audio. - Which really, you mentioned the word close, the solution is get the microphone as close as possible. About this far away from the subject, and what you have there is a lavalier microphone that just uses either a tie clip or two little pins, and you can attach it right to your subjects clothing. - Yeah, and this is obviously a tried and true method that you know, has been used for interviews for ever, right?
