- So Ted, when it comes to getting good audio, the first stop is obviously the microphone that you're going to be using. And, you know a lot of people think, hey a microphone's a microphone, but when it comes to getting good interview audio, there are a really a couple specialty microphones that you see used most often, a lavalier, or often called a lav mic or a lapel mic. And as we'll talk about later a shotgun or a boom mic. Whether that be in the scene itself or on camera.
