Using cloning software to transfer data
- While using the operating system to copy data is a valid solution it's not necessarily the best choice. That's because it doesn't necessarily validate the data, making sure the data on the card matches the drive. And if this is the case, they don't line up, it might mean a lose of data. Let's explore cloning software to ensure that we have a complete copy of the data. I'll make another folder here called CAM_02 and we'll transfer the first card to it. New, Folder, CAM_02_CARD_01. On the PC here I'm using Acronis True Image, but there are many disk imaging software programs out there. Feel free to find one that fits your budget and matches the features that you're looking for. Let's start by selecting the memory card. I can change that source and choose the memory card that I want to archive. There we go. Now I can choose the destination.
