- You know, it's funny, when I say "lavalier mic" to somebody, or "lav mic," if they're not kind of indoctrinated to the world of video they kind of go, "What's that?" Right? - Right. - Well then if you say, "Oh, have you ever seen a boom mic?" People go, "Oh yeah, "I've seen that on behind the scenes videos!" Right? Where some guy is always holding the mic in there like that. This is a boom mic. And it's kind of a weird way of saying it, because it's actually a shotgun mic on a boom pole. - Right. So it's a compound word. - Right, exactly. - And essentially, a good one of these is going to have it so that the mic is protected from vibrations, so you don't hear any rub, and then the cable is going to run through the pole to the other end where you could attach the audio cable to record. - Right.
