Using the Pan & Zoom tool
- [Instructor] The Pan & Zoom tool is one of several ways in Premier Elements Degree, what's come to be known as the Ken Burns effect, the panning and zooming over a photo to make the photo seem almost alive. Adobe has also added some face recognition technology to the tool to make the process even more automatic, for better or for worse. To use the tool select the clip on your timeline, we'll select this photo of this couple. Go to the tool bar, click on Tools, and select Pan & Zoom. Now the program's going to do a quick analysis, locate faces in the photo, and then create a Pan & Zoom from face to face. And here's what that looks like. You notice we've got a one second pause at the beginning, five seconds of panning, and a one second pause at the end. Now a couple of things are happening here, one is that we're getting a kind of unnatural Pan & Zoom from face to face, the other is that the hang time at the beginning and end here, this one second, has now changed our photo from the…
