- If you are working with CFast or SD memory cards, you'll need the appropriate reader for your computer. Remember, a CFast card is not the same as a standard compact flashcard, so make sure you get the approved CFast reader. Attach the card reader directly to your computer. I'm going to work with an SD card now, and I'll just insert that into the card reader. Now I can select the card. Notice it has the real number that was assigned in camera. Here we have several clips from our interview. They were all recorded in the movie format. If I double click, it will open into QuickTime Player. Now, this was from our reference camera, the wide shot, that was using camera mic instead of the wireless lavalier that was running into our main camera. The footage is also log. Many camera manufacturers add all sorts of proprietary file information and extra folders, and it's usually important to grab all of that. Blackmagic takes a real simple approach.
