Tips to extend battery life

- Every videographer always wishes for more battery life because it seems like you lose power at the worst time possible. There are some things you can do to get battery life when you're shooting. Here's just a few practical tips. One, make sure that if you are not using a viewfinder, an LCD monitor, go ahead and turn it off. In the case of some of these cameras you can actually fold the side panel in and this is going to turn that viewfinder off. In the case of some of the larger cameras this can really draw a lot of power 'cause you're basically running a small television set attached to the side of your camera. But even if you're not using one with a tiltable viewfinder you do have a large display on the back of the pocket camera, making sure that you actually turn down the brightness on that, so it's not maximum brightness, will give you longer battery life.
