- You've heard the phrase time tracking come up…a lot in this course.…It's really, really, really, really important.…It's also really hard,…and I'm just as guilty as everyone else is…of not tracking my time.…But the thing is, it's very important.…It's almost impossible to get my employees to do it.…I've chosen to make it something that we do…some of the time.…We periodically track time so we can see…how things are going on a per project basis.…If I did it all of the time, it would be more useful.…
But it just doesn't happen.…We tend to do it periodically to evaluate,…particularly on ongoing projects, how are things going,…is it going to take about the amount of time…that we're estimating.…Now, fortunately, time tracking has gotten easier…through the years,…and there are lots of apps that can be run on a computer…or left running so an employee can log their time…throughout the day.…What's important here, though,…is that you're doing things that are tracked…particularly if you're doing time and materials work.…If you are billing based on that time,…
