Smart caching and rendering
- [Instructor] Resolve has some really intelligent smart caching, smart rendering that occurs. You'll find that under the Playback menu, under the word Render Cache, and I'm going to hit Smart, and the moment I do, you might panic a moment, and the reason you might panic is because a lot of the timeline has turned red. It's turning red on this timeline because it's all H264 footage, and Resolve does some intelligent handling of it. While it's sitting back and doing its background rendering, let's take a look at where these things occur and where these things live. In my Preferences here, under the System, you'll see this very first choice, this very first mount. It says right here at the bottom, the first Media Storage location is where it's going to store cache files, and it should be permanently connected to your system. You can add other ones here, but that first one has that special regard, and I happen to have it on a very fast rate on my system. I'm going to go ahead here and…
