Shooting interviews at conferences

- Conferences, they're loud, hectic, and crowded. You're going to be asked to film an interview at them, so how do you approach it? The same principles apply here as filming a normal interview, but you have to take a few other things into consideration. The first thing you have to consider is your lighting. Conferences are often held at large places like the Java Center in New York, the Moscone Center in San Francisco, or one of the halls in Las Vegas. These places are often lit by large, overhead lights. They can be unflattering to a guest. They can create those pockets of shadow underneath your eyes and the chin. So the best way to overcome this is to bring supplemental lighting if you have the budget and the space. If you don't have the budget and the space, one trick you can use is using a flexible bounce card to lean against your tripod that'll hopefully bounce some of that light back up, filling in those shadows.
