Selecting and using a desktop microphone
- Another popular option for choosing a microphone for a webinar is going to be a desktop mic. There are many different options out there, but personally I'm a fan of the New Wave that offers a USB connection. This makes it very easy to connect directly to your device. Now I've got one here. This is a Yeti microphone from a company called Blue that are well known for their microphones, and this is sort of a premium model. It's in the mid range of price, but it's far more expensive than some of the off the shelf ones you'd find in a lot of consumer electronic stores. This one uses a simple USB connection. You'll see it on the bottom here which allows you to then connect with any size cable that you need in case you need longer reach. There's also a mounting port down here that we'll use a little later when we talk about attaching this to something like a microphone stand.
