- [Narrator] There are several approaches to choosing a color. Partly because there's more than one way of recording or displaying color and partly because people like to work in different ways. Regardless of the way colors are displayed, you'll always be making choices that result in a set of numbers being assigned to pixels. In theory, you can always simply type in color values and this is often the way to work when producing graphic content for print press because a logo color, or branding color, is not a question of subjective preference. You'll find professional printers will often demand black made from a particular set of values for which their printer is calibrated. There are lots of short cut color pickers available in photo shop but this is the main one. You actually start with the range of hues in the vertical strip. Then use the large square to choose color intensity and lightness. You'll notice out of gamut warnings for print or web. Gamut is just another word for color…
