Roll and extend edits

- [Instructor] A roll edit is where you're changing both sides of a trim simultaneously. That's when both sides are lit up. And you'll see as I drag left and right, you'll see both sides change here. Both here on the timeline itself, as well as up in the monitor. And I can use those same keys. Comma, period, and then shift-comma and shift-period to move quicker left and right. I can also with an edit selected, hit the letter E for an extend edit. And this makes it very easy for me to go ahead and say close that gap here, click here and close that gap there. That's an extend edit. It does based on what's selected and again, you're going to find these underneath the Trim Menu and there is that Extend Edit. A roll edit doesn't need trim physically to be on and the reason it doesn't is it's not trimming, it's not shortening the timeline. So you can roll either way.
