- As you prepare for a job interview it's important that you do your homework. I've seen so many folks come in and interview for positions, and they really know very little about my company. This is a huge turnoff as an employer. You want to be knowledgeable about the company you're applying for. Start with the most obvious, their website. This is where you can see what's most important to them. What work samples do they share? What background information? You may be able to discover key facts about leadership within the company, or their type of clientele. You also should take a look at the social medial profiles for the company. This is where you can see the most recent work and where they've reached out. And if there are key employees that you've identified be sure to look them up on LinkedIn.
