- This may seem obvious but there are a lot of benefits to recorded video. Now, we do have to talk about the option of live video and something we'll address a little further along but when it comes to recorded video there are two distinct advantages. Number one is obviously the ability to edit and have a very polished video. The other is the ability to have an archive of video that can be referenced later. Now, there are live video platforms that will allow you to have an archive and some more advanced options when it comes to editing live-to-tape video but if you're talking about the most straightforward way to produce video then that comes down to recording and then having the option to edit or not to edit. And while there are some more advanced options when it comes to ways to edit live video, that's something that goes beyond the scope of what we're going to be talking about here.
