- So now that you've prepped your talent, you've made sure that you're happy with the composition of your shots, you've checked your lighting and you're happy with your lighting setup, as well as you have your audio is all ready to go, it's definitely time to make sure that what you're recording is what you're gonna see on a bigger screen. My recommendation is to do a test clip. What we did during the interview process is I recorded a 60 second segment of Lindsay and I checked this footage afterwards on my laptop, as well as the external sound source. We were recording audio to the camera, but that wasn't the audio that we were gonna use. We had a separate audio device, a Zoom H4n Recorder, which added our two audio sources, a boom, as well as a lav. So I brought this 60 second clip, my video, and I placed it into my laptop and I checked it through QuickTime Player to make sure that everything was in focus and that I did actually record sound on my camera and it was in the correct…
