Post-production responsibilities
- In post-production, the video producer is responsible for overseeing the project to completion. This includes managing people, time, and resources to ensure the project is done on time and within budget. Post-production includes video editing, graphic and motion graphic design, animation, sound design, and color grading. The producer is responsible to guide the post-production team to ensure the project meets the client's vision. Elements to complete the post-production are part of your responsibility. These can include archival materials, still images, music, sound effects, and other related elements that are necessary in the post-production process. Securing rights to these elements is also the responsibility of the video producer. Just because you can download something from the internet doesn't mean you have the right to use it in your project. Story reviews with the video editor is a major part of the producer role.
