- Pacing is important. Being able to maintain your own energy and your own pace during a video is going to really help with the experience for a viewer, but also the way that you deliver information, the way that you present things, that's going to determine whether people can keep up with you and whether you're retaining them for the long haul of the video from beginning to end. Also there are a little bit of tricks that you can use in your production editing that definitely help with this, and a lot of people also struggle with how long a video should be in the first place. And I have a simple rule. My simple rule is this: a video should be as long as it needs to be to deliver on its promise and not a minute longer. A lot of people, especially in the video marketing community, will bring up case studies.
