- [Instructor] There are additional airspaces that exist and you need to be aware of these airspaces so that you don't inadvertently fly into an area that you are not supposed to be in. Prohibited areas are where flight is prohibited, like the airspace around the White House and the U.S. Capitol Building. Restricted areas are areas where operations are hazardous to nonparticipating aircraft. Not all flight is prohibited, but it is subjected to restrictions. Restricted areas are charted with an "R" followed by a number. In this case, you can see the R5002 information on this area can be found on the back of the chart. Warning areas exist to warn nonparticipating pilots of the potential danger. The airspace is designated with a "W" followed by a number. In here you see W-137Delta.
