- So even though we haven't made a single edit yet in our master sequence, we've come so far, and the main points in our story are really taking shape. We've gone through the arduous task of whittling things down from a bunch of long interviews to intelligently keyworded sub-clips to unedited thematic select sequences to edited thematic select sequences. Now, the seven points that I'll explore in the documentary each have a strong compilation of interview sound bites to represent the heart of what I want to say. The shortest of these select sequences is about three minutes, and the longest one is about eight minutes. So if you add up all seven select sequences, we come up with about 35 minutes of material. I think we can all agree that 35 minutes of well-organized, thematic chunks is about a million times more manageable than the 12 hours or so that we began with in terms of our raw interviews.
