- After you capture a video, you need to move on to post-production. And there are several professionals that can step in here to help. There are generally, though, four key roles that you need to fill. The first is video editor. And the video editor is really going to be responsible for organizing the assets of a project. Now the might have an assistant to help with this, but they look through all the footage and help identify the best pieces and then assemble those into sequences to tell stories. Depending upon your production, the video editor may also fill different roles, such as audio mixing, color grading, and compression for final output. In this day and age, it's also very common to have graphics in a project. Most modern productions integrate motion graphics.
