- [Instructor] Another important and common task of visual effects compositing is paint fixing. And with paint fixing, you can make small fixes or changes to footage or composites that may be too difficult or time consuming to do with other compositing techniques, such as masking and rotoscoping or motion tracking. So what includes a template for painting? Let's give that a try. I'll drag this footage into the trees panel, get the New Session dialogue, change the basic settings. Now look at the template menu. Here's where I set to Paint whereas normally it's set to Composite. I'll choose paint and click okay, and that adds a paint node. Makes the correct connections. It gives you a paint history panel. One common task in paint fixing is remove unwanted objects. For example, maybe you really like this footage, but you're not crazy about the bird flying through.
