Just as two mono audio channels can be combined to create a stereo mix, three color channels can be combined to create full color visuals. The question is, what color system? Also, how subtle are the steps from no color to full color? Subtle ranges of color are achieved using the same principle that allows us to capture monochrome images—by blending in just the right way, we have precise control over the results.
