- Before you go in for real interviews, it's a great idea to hold some mock interviews. Think of 'em as a dry run or rehearsal. And in reality, it's like personal training. It's a chance to work with a coach or a mentor and to get better. Having mock interviews physically walks you through what the interview's going to be like, helping you build up stamina, the ability to respond to questions, to make great eye contact. You really need these because the act of doing an interview is not something we do that often. You could be rusty, out of practice, or have some bad habits. You may even decide to record these on video so you can watch things like your body language. Doing mock interviews really helps you prepare and shows you if you're ready for the job, or at least the job interview.
