- [Instructor] Many times,…the video you will be using…in your Premiere Elements project…will be coming from a hard drive camcorder,…or a camcorder that stores its video on a flash memory card.…It might also be coming from a portable device…like an iPad or an iPod touch or a smart phone.…In any event,…the process of getting the video…from the device into your Premiere Elements project…is basically the same.…In this session, we're going to look at how to use…the Premiere Elements video importer software…to download your video from your camcorder…or other portable device…to your hard drive…and directly into your project.…
Let me just say that any assets you use in your project…need to be on your computer hard drive.…You can't just import the files into your project…and leave them on your camcorder.…If you do that,…as soon as you disconnect your camcorder,…the program is going to lose its connection here…to your original assets.…So you need to get the assets onto your hard drive.…The beautiful thing about the video importer…
