- Welcome to module one, unit one. We're going to talk about what a green screen is used for. We typically use green screen for shots that are impossible, impractical, expensive, and too dangerous to shoot. You may be asking yourself, why green? Well, green is a color that is the least present in your skin tone, so in your editing software you're able to extract the green, leaving behind your actor. On days that you're shooting with a green screen, it is important to avoid clothing with the color green, and also clothing with the color yellow.
