- As you're getting prepared for job interviews you're going to want to start to collect some references and perhaps testimonials. Make sue when you reach out to your professional network that your references know that they might actually be called upon to speak about you. So you're going to want to catch up with them and make sure that they know what you've been up to. I always suggest you ask the reference what they think your strengths and weaknesses are.
