Fostering team accountability
- As you try to build accountability amongst your team there are several things you can do to help this process. First, mentor individuals. Not only are you there to lead the project, you're there to build future leaders. You need to ensure that people know that they're in charge of things and that they're starting to grow as leaders themselves. To do this, you need to mentor them as individuals. Also, make sure that you help them identify tasks and milestones. Don't just publish things to a document and never meet with someone. Particularly if it's a complex project, you want to make sure that you sit down with the different people and that they understand where they fit into things and why the schedule is important.
