- [Instructor] In the last tutorial, … we talked about what a clean plate is … and in this tutorial, we're going to look at how to make one. … Now, again, a clean plate is just the background … with nothing else on it. … And if you're on set … and you have a good visual effects supervisor, … which we'll talk about later on in this course, … they should be taking ones. … They should be taking plates, photos on set … so you can use for a place you don't have to make one. … And we weren't planning on this being a visual effects shot, … so we didn't take those photos on set. … Now, oftentimes, if you're clever, … you can find a plate by going through the footage. … So if we just look at the clip, … maybe we got this from the editor … and we see the whole shot from here in the start … and she starts walking, and then at the end of the shot, … she starts running away. … There's really not too much to use here. … But if we go back to the source footage, … and I'm just going to go here, in the Project Panel. …
