Erasing or reformatting media

- When it comes time to erase those cards you might be tempted to just use your computer. After all, if this was a USB thumb drive you just throw the files in the trash and hit empty. But that's not really a good idea. Remember, when shooting camera media there's a database and lots of other files, so throwing away some files and not others can lead to weirdness within the card structure. Plus, it's a pretty good idea that from time to time you want to completely reformat a camera's memory card, so it can rebuild the database and the file structure to ensure the best integrity of the overall storage system. So what do you do? Well, when you know that it's time to wipe a card chances are you have several options. First off, some of the tools, like ShotPut Pro here for example, have the ability to invoke a Manual Reformat.
