- Hi, I'm Steph Belski, founder of Lucid. Lucid is a content consultancy, where we focus on new media and specifically on YouTube content creation for nonprofits. So I'm thrilled to be hosting the course for "How to create your first fundraising video" with CreatorUp. And we're going to make a video so that you can raise some funds. And how we're going to do that is first we're going to learn about the story of your organization. Really figure out what your message is and how you're going to best communicate that. Second, we're going to develop your script. You don't need to be an award-winning screenwriter to write a script for a fundraising video, and we're going to take you through that process. And lastly, we're going to figure out how do you ask for the money in a way that is not intrusive, but effective? And after you have your final product, how do you promote it? Where does this video live? So, a little bit about me and my background, I started the marketing department for CollegeHumor back in 2007, I've worked in the entertainment industry for 10 years, I have background in public relations and advertising agencies, and I even worked for a YouTube network. So I'm taking all of my experience that I have and bringing it to you, the nonprofits, in order to create a piece of content that is truly compelling, and one that you will want to share, but most importantly, one that your fans and followers will want to share, so that they can promote you and spread your message, and create awareness for your organization and help you raise more funds. So, welcome to the course, we're really excited that you're here, and I look forward to teaching you. Thanks for watching! I am very happy to be here with my friend and client, Tess Cacciatore. Tess is the COO and co-founder of the Global Women's Empowerment Network, otherwise known as GWEN. Tess, thanks for being here. - Thank you so much, I think this is so important that you're actually having an online course to help nonprofit organizations find ways to use media technology to fundraise. I've been doing this for about 20 years and I wish that this opportunity was around when I was starting out. - Tess has a production background, and so you're doubly lucky that you're getting both of us, because Tess is a pro at this. And even though you may not have the production knowhow that Tess does, we at least hope that we can make making a video a little bit more accessible for you.
