- A common tool that folks have access to is Adobe Media Encoder, or AME, and this is going to be useful to folks who use After Effects or Premiere Pro and it is part of those tools. So whether you have a full Creative Cloud subscription or you're just using Premiere Pro you will have this tool on your system. - That's right, Rich. AME or Adobe Media Encoder is the Adobe ecosystem's tool for compressing files to various formats and file types. That might mean a true transcode but it might mean a compression for things like the web or various devices. And the cool thing about AME is that there's actually two different ways that you can use it. You can use it integrated into your video editing workflow with Premiere Pro and After Effects. And literally just send a timeline from those applications over to AME or you can use it as a standalone tool.
