Coming up with an interview plan

- One of the most important elements of many documentaries is the interview. Which can often serve as the foundation for the entire film. Interviews are multi-faceted. They can serve as wonderful interpersonal research where you talk to experts about your topic to learn information. And then, of course, when you identify great sources, they may be able to serve as the on screen interviews for the film. And so here I want to talk about coming up with a good interview plan in the pre-production phase. The first step in tackling an interview plan is to first look at the film plan. Here's a general plan we've drawn up for the project RELO doc taken from my proposal. The vast majority of the points I want to explore will be delivered, at least in part, by a talking head interview with B role. For each point, I need to decide who I want to act as the authority or storyteller. Try to be specific.
