Color correction: Fixing and enhancing color
- Color correction and color grading are crucial phases of the post production process. Although for beginners, these steps are often overlooked. Let's talk about why they're so important. First, color correction. Really much of it is just about correcting the image so that it matches what we would naturally see with the human eye. After all, there are countless cameras, lighting conditions, and production environments, each of which can alter the look of recorded images. So it's during post-production that you go back through each shot and perform those corrections. This is a fairly methodical multi-step process, where you first correct the shots contrast or light and dark values, then you correct the shots color balance issues, so the shot doesn't contain an unwanted color cast.
