- Earlier, we discussed the strategy of cloning, using a specialized software tool. Remember, cloning over a simple copy will actually validate the data. Now, the exact steps of validation can vary. It can be as simple as just copying the files and counting that the same number of files exist to more robust methods that actually look at all of the individual bits of data and compare them, one to another. Let's go ahead and start that process. Before I make the move, I need to eject the previous card. I've already copied it to two location. Make sure that you select the card and choose Eject, or you may have the ability here to safely remove hardware, and you can actually eject things from here. There's the memory card. I want to make sure that the system isn't using it. At this point, it no longer appears in the list, so it's safe to remove it from the system.
