- When you're working with a screencast it's really important that you remove distractions. This is because the screen itself is the star of the show. So just like you don't want to wear loud polka dots on camera with clown makeup, you probably don't want a bunch of distracting elements on the screen, unless it's a video about clowns then that is okay. So let's take a look here at a typical screen. In fact, I'm going to change the desktop pattern back to what it would most likely be on a Mac here. Chances are, you would have some stuff like this, different screens or pictures. The problem with these types of setups is that it could be really distracting. There's a lot of detail in different elements and it could really interrupt or interfere with the content. So first up, one of the things I recommend is going simple. So in your desktop in screensaver, just go on over to colors and choose something like a nice neutral gray…
