- As we just covered, backend CDN streaming support can range from none to full 24, seven assistance. In some smaller productions, you may not need any support, while for a major press event or a CEO address, you want a live body on standby at all times. This level of support, of course, comes at a price. When purchasing a plan from Akamai or Livestream you will pay more for this feature. But if the project demands it, I always recommend having a human being on the backend, ready to manage any potential issues. For the free and social media platforms out there, don't expect this level of support. The good news with YouTube is that you're using the Google Content Network. It's perhaps the most robust on the planet and I've found that it, along with Facebook's, to be highly reliable. Of course, there's always an exception to the rule.
