Building optimized and proxy media

- [Instructor] Resolve has the ability to transcode media or build proxy media and the term that's used in Resolve is called generate optimized media. It's up to you as a user to tweak that optimization for how you would like it to work, whether you want it to be just a straight transcode or a proxy. Up here under Playback, if it's got optimized media, Resolve will use it, but we should talk about how to generate it, and generate it best. To do this, I'm going to go to my preferences. I'm going to say here in my project preferences under the gear, I'm going to go to the optimized media which is in the master settings. So I'm just going to scroll down. There's Optimized Media. Now there are two kind of ideals that I have here. The first is I want to build optimized transcoded media that plays as best as possible, great for H.264, or I'd like to build a proxy.
