- We talked earlier about frame rates for video. Similarly, you will need to consider sampling rate for audio, most productions will use 24-bit, 48-kilohertz audio and those files will be WAV files, which will contain more audio information than MP3s. If you are shooting with multiple cameras, which is quite common for mutli-platform delivery, then please remember to record your audio into your primary camera, but I would also recommend using at least one other camera mic for reference audio, like from a side camera. This just makes it so much easier to sync your cameras. I also like to record backup audio to a field recording mixer or a digital recorder, just in case something goes wrong with that primary camera input. And always use a slate, both verbal and physical. Get your interviews transcribed.
