Join Nick Brazzi for an in-depth discussion in this video Running the teleprompter from a separate device, part of Managing a Video Production with an iPad (2014).
…Once you have the Teleprompter Plus app all…set up and ready to display your script,…you should take a moment to think about…how you're going to manage the prompter play back.…In some setups, you can just put the prompter…iPad into the camera rig, hit Start, and you're fine.…But, in a lot of cases, you're going to need to pause the script and…adjust the scrolling speed to match how…quickly your on camera talent reads the script.…To accomplish that, you might want to pair your iPad with a second iOS…device, your iPhone, another iPad or an iPod touch like I have here.…
Then you can use that second device as a remote control.…So let's see how that works.…I'm going to start the Teleprompter Plus app on both devices.…Now they look a little bit different but…all of the controls are generally the same.…I'm going to use the iPod as a remote control for the iPad.…So the iPad is what would be in the camera rig.…The idea here is that you don't really want…to interact with the iPad very much, if at all.…You want to do everything that you're going to do on the iPod.…
