Once your budget is all filled out, there are a few more steps you need to take to finalize it. This includes saving it, giving yourself the ability to go in and make changes, and keeping a simplified version to share with your client. Author Richard Harrington demonstrates these last few steps you need to take to finish out your budget.
- Once a budget is populated…there are a few extra steps to do to finalize it.…This is making sure that you've saved things…and that you have the ability to go…and make any changes as necessary,…as well as keep a simplified version…to share with the client.…Let me show you.…First up I'm gonna make sure to save this,…but not on top of itself,…rather I'll choose file, save as.…If you don't see that save as…you might have to Option or Alt click on the save bar.…Let's rename this…and we'll call this budget,…N-F-C-C, P-S-A.…
And I'll store that on my local drive.…There we go.…And I'll put that out to my desktop…and capture it.…Now we've saved that…and the original has not been overwritten.…It's important that you don't blow away your template.…Now it's also a good idea with that template…to duplicated it and put a few copies…in a few different places on your system.…I've seen many people hit save out of habit…and mess up their template document.…
You can also explore zipping a copy, or locking it,…so that it opens up as a new file…
